Abstract:
»The article analyses the normalisation and perpetuation of rape culture and gender-based violence through music, using Italian rap songs as a case study. It draws a direct connection between the normalisation of violent and misogynistic lyrics and broader societal attitudes towards gender-based violence in Italy. By dissecting both the lyrics and their cultural impact, the article aims to reveal how entertainment can shape societal norms and contribute to perpetuating systemic issues of violence and inequality.«
